Leader: The cat that is in charge of the entire Clan. The leader is responsible for leading the Clan, making important decisions within the Clan, and planning battles or confrontations with other Clans. The leader is granted nine lives by StarClan, so that they can be the "first in every battle, and the last to take a piece of fresh-kill." The leader doesn't take on apprentices as much as the deputy, but it is considered a great honor to be mentored by him/her.
Deputy: The Clan leader's chosen successor. The deputy is required to assign patrols and make reports to the leader, as well as to assist the leader in planning for battles or other confrontations. The deputy is also given apprentices more often than normal warriors. When the leader dies or steps down, the deputy becomes the next leader.
Medicine Cat: A cat who has been trained by the previous medicine cat as a medicine cat apprentice, and has taken over the job. He/she is skilled with herbs, plants, and natural remedies, and is responsible to make sure the Clan is healthy. The medicine cat is often the one to receive messages from StarClan, sometimes in dreams.
Elder: A cat who cannot successfully hunt or fight for him/herself anymore. They choose to retire and are looked up to with much respect. Most elders retire due to old age, though there have been some circumstances in which cats retire due to injury, sickness, or loss of sight/hearing. They often gossip to each other and tell stories to kits.
Queen: A she-cat who is currently expecting or nursing kits. Some she-cats stay in the nursery permanently to assist other queens, despite having no kits to take care of.
Warrior: A mature cat who has completed his or her training. An apprentice usually becomes a warrior after six moons of training, though depending on the circumstances, they may gain their warrior name earlier or later. Warriors are required to hunt, patrol, and fight for their Clan. They are sometimes required to be a mentor to an apprentice. A she-cat is considered a warrior when she is not currently expecting or nursing a tom's kits.
Apprentice: A cat training to be a warrior or a medicine cat. A cat normally becomes an apprentice at six moons old, unless it is forced to become one earlier (which is a violation of the warrior code) or later (due to punishment, injury, or something that overall forces a kit to avoid the overexertion of training). They may leave the camp, as long as their mentor has no jobs for them to do. They are required to obey their mentor at all times.
Kit: A kitten younger than six moons. They are required to stay in the camp at all times. They are often encouraged to visit the elders and listen to stories, or to play by themselves with moss or feathers.
